Machinery and Container Packing Service for Eyebiz

Our Onsite Packing job for Eyebiz, involved our crew to operate and work full-time, on site, for a month. Eyebiz, a manufacturer of lenses for eyewear and contact lenses required machinery and equipment to be secured and protected for sea freight to ship to Singapore. Our team was faced with over 8100 items to pack into 7 large, 40ft shipping containers which we ended up filling with more than 130 Wooden Boxes and using over 100 Barrier Foil bags.

Of course, a workload of this size requires strategic planning and careful thought to maximise the space used, on top of ensuring the cargo endurance for its journey and shipping conditions. To successfully execute this project, a few challenging factors needed to be taken into consideration such as:

  • The number of carriers that will handle the container,
  • The movement of the ship,
  • Sea water entering the containers,
  • And avoiding rust and corrosion.

The Process

How did we do it? First, we heat-shrunk the machinery and equipment with Premium Barrier Foil over the top which serves to protect them from rust and corrosion. The machinery was then securely strapped on to the bases before the construction of the box. Once the wooden case was fully enclosed, all the cases were chocked and blocked into the shipping container, ready for sea freight export.

The whole project completed wrapping, packing and crating 131 crates and furnishings which contained over 8100 items – loaded into seven 40ft shipping containers.

“UBEECO’s professionalism, management, co-ordination and experience, backed by skilled and conscientious staff, saw the successful delivery of our project.

This project involving the wrapping, packing and crating of 131 crates and furnishings, containing over 8100 items… exceeded both schedule and budget expectations.

This was a significant task complete to the highest standards.

Well done and thanks again.”
