Types of Sources

Retail

Buying retail means you can have what you need there and then. But, you will pay a premium amount for such convenience. If your volume is fairly small and buying in bulk isn’t of interest: retail should be an option to consider.

Online

This is a brilliant method to source products and gauging a price point. But, more importantly, if you’re time-restricted and you find yourself looking for suppliers after hours, then an online shop is the way to go. The down sides of buying online would be the price and delivery. You may not get the best market price by selecting an online option. You have a better chance of negotiating a price if you personally talk to a supplier as they can get a better understanding of your overall volume and needs and tailor costs accordingly.

Just a side tip: before you find all your products and add them to a shopping cart, check out the delivery fee. It might also be worth seeing if they’re in your state. You may find free delivery options in your own city when you reach a certain dollar value order. Furthermore, you could also get an option for direct collection.

Wholesale

You can never go wrong going past the old-school method of phoning and speaking to a wholesaler, getting a rep to visit, and giving yourself an opportunity to negotiate. There will be minimum order values to spend, but if buying in bulk is something you have the space for, then there’s a likelihood to be better price points available from a wholesaler.

Hopefully, these points have helped point you in the right direction. It’s always beneficial to explore all options and look into things ahead of time to avoid being cornered into paying a premium for something that can be bought at a budget rate.
