Choosing The Right Pallet Size

Even if you’ve ordered Wooden Pallets in the past, it’s not always easy to work out what size you need or style of pallet to get.
At UBEECO, we believe that it’s all about your product rather than working with the stock that we have.

How To Get Started

To choose the right pallet size, assess the product you’re using the pallet for: dimensions, weight, and shipping method.

Next, consider which type or style of pallet is more practical for your needs; think about its structural integrity and the strength that is required to carry your product. At UBEECO, these are the types of pallets we have on offer:

Wooden Pallets

  • for Export – ISPM15 Accredited
  • Euro Pallets
  • Australian Standard
  • Skids / Half Pallets
  • for Machinery
  • Closed Deck
  • Hardwood
  • Softwood

Plastic Pallets

  • Rackable – grill or smooth top
  • and more…

When choosing the pallet type, take into consideration the dimensions and weight of your product to ensure that it occupies the pallet securely: no product overhang and the pallet material and its structure can hold up the weight of your product. The Australian standard pallet size is 1165 x 1165; it’s the most readily available and holds around 1 tonne in weight.

If the standard size isn’t practical for your product’s needs – don’t worry. Getting a custom-made pallet won’t require you to have a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of hundreds of pallets. You’ll find manufacturers to be open to make as few as one Custom Pallet Size so don’t disregard the idea in fear of not having the right order quantity. One thing to note: plastic pallets cannot be custom-made.

After gathering all the necessary specifications, you’re ready to place an order with your chosen supplier. If you’re still unsure or your choice of size or type look like they won’t work, definitely have a chat with our experienced team at UBEECO. There’s no pallet too big or too small to make and we can configure the job to have enough material to hold the weight you need. We’re one phone call away to customising a pallet that’s right for you.
